Trey Barnett is the Post-Graduate Fellow for the CEASE Clinic. As a legal fellow, Barnett supports the clinic’s litigation efforts in juvenile court, civil court, and in post-conviction proceedings. He also provides guidance to law students based on his past experiences as a practicing attorney.
Prior to joining the clinic, Barnett worked at the Law Office of the Dekalb County Public Defender for two and a half years, where he represented clients in traffic offenses, ordinance violations, misdemeanors, and felonies. Barnett has experience representing clients at a variety of stages in the court process, from as early as immediately after arrest to assisting with a murder trial.
Barnett went to UGA for his bachelor’s and earned his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University. While in law school, he was a fellow for Georgia State University’s Center for Access to Justice.
