Are you an attorney looking for pro bono opportunities working directly with survivors of trafficking? Join CEASE’s network of attorneys supporting our Survivors First Vacatur Project, and assist survivors of trafficking in vacating criminal convictions that were the direct result of their victimization.
Post-conviction relief for survivors of human trafficking is a crucial legal remedy that helps survivors clear criminal records resulting from their trafficking experience. Criminal charges create barriers to freedom, employment, safe housing, education, financial assistance, and other key components of stability and independence. We currently have pro bono opportunities available throughout Georgia in Bulloch, Carroll, Catoosa, Clayton, Crisp, Douglas, Floyd, Gwinnett, Habersham, Jackson, Murray, Newton, Paulding, Richmond, Rockdale, and Spalding counties. The time commitment for these opportunities varies – some of our pro bono opportunities may take as little as 11-20 hours of your time, and the positive impact you’d be providing is immeasurable.
Our training will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for trauma-informed representation of survivors in vacatur petitions. Please visit our Survivors First Vacatur Project page to access the training, review our open opportunities, and learn more about the project.
