The CEASE Clinic would like to welcome Trey Barnett as its newest Post-Graduate Legal Fellow.
As the Post-Graduate Fellow, Trey assists with the provision of direct legal services to survivors of child sexual abuse in civil tort litigation and juvenile court dependency cases. He participates in litigation and policy advocacy, which includes drafting and filing pleadings, appearing at hearings on behalf of clients, conducting legal research, maintaining open lines of communication with clients, and participating in local and statewide taskforces for survivors of child sexual abuse and trafficking.
Prior to joining CEASE, Barnett worked at the Law Office of the Dekalb County Public Defender for two and a half years, where he represented clients at a variety of stages in the court process, from as early as immediately after arrest to assisting with a murder trial. Barnett earned his J.D. from Georgia State University. While in law school, he worked as a Fellow for Georgia State University’s Center for Access to Justice.
Welcome to the team, Trey!
